I'm a little late to jump on the starPause train, but this SF 16bitter had me sweatin' at the Blip Festival after party last December. Click the image to download his "AKID EP" from 8bitpeoples.
"AKID EP" by starPause is causing a ruckus. Four floor killers stacked with stinging slaps, bone-shaking bass, saucy diva snippets and tricked out retrigger commandos. Brain on the verge, move as you must! Only Piggy Tracker makes it possible. Art by Videogramo tew wey sekam. Mastering by Jesse Graffam rocks any sound system.

Facts N' Chese Episode 2: Hoch Ybrig

Facts N' Cheese Episode 2 from BLT / IDM on Vimeo.

Welcome to Facts n' Cheese! It's like Mac n' Cheese, but not! Join me on my awkward trek through cheeses of the world. In each episode, I'm joined by a friend and I make them eat cheese while I spout out all I know about a particular curd conglomeration. Special thanks to Jeff Stockton for designing our logo as well as Ryan Darrenkamp and Vance Spicer for their beer, house, camera equipment and editing!

Episode 2 features Swiss raw milk Hoch Ybrig, my roommate Grace Tan and the song "Minha Caipirinha É Ótima (Very, Very)" by Minusbaby. I know, my dress is way tight. I had to test all of the cheese! Oof!

Facts N' Cheese Episode 1: Garrotxa

Facts n' Cheese Episode 1 from BLT / IDM on Vimeo.

Episode 1 features goat's milk Garrotxa, my friend Davey Reed and "OceansideArcade" by Go Motion. One day, I promise I'll get that hair out of my face! CORRECTION: I said "pear" when I meant "peach." So that's peach chutney.

Additional facts about Garrotxa:
  • The capital city of Garrotxa is Olot. They eat a Olot (Sorry.) It's a volcanic zone that produces the leading source of maize in the region--NOT A FACT: perhaps this lends to the unique rind development and taste of Garrotxa cheese?
  • This is what it looks like as a wheel.
  • This is what it looks like when it is cut.
  • Someone has a twitter with the same name?!
Recipe for peach chutney:
1 can of halved peaches in syrup (drained)
1 tablespoon of chili powder
1/2 bottle of any white wine (Spanish if you can!)
A couple of whole peppercorns

Put all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring the mix to a simmer and reduce on low heat until syrupy, like cough syrup. But I promise it doesn't taste like that! Try not to stir it if you want the peaches in tact. If you want to make it a jammy consistency, sift out the peppercorns and mash with a fork.

Video: How did I miss Artisanal's Grilled Cheese Contest?

(via the Feedbag)

I was a little dismayed about the low publicity effort surrounding the Artisanal Grilled cheese contest. I had no idea! I mean, I make grilled cheese for a living! On one hand, I love to compete. But then again, if I had won--would I want my grilled cheesums to appear on someone else's menu? After the contest ended, a flame-war ensued! Yes, grilled cheese is THAT big of a deal !

Which of my grilled cheeses would I have submitted? The sweet chevre brulee!
